I like rocks!
And it appears I'm not the only one.
I love how they spontaneously align themselves in the most interesting formations.
They provide a great place for contemplation.
Reading.
Or just expressing yourself.
But don't sit around too long or you may become a target for harmless mayhem.
Rocks are a great place for basking, which we all know is a way to warm your body by lying in the sun.
(Sorry, family joke.)
Or for drying your wings if you happen to have some.
And they need drying.
And they need drying.
They are terribly fun for climbing up. Especially if you've only been aware of the world for a few hours.
And for some reason, maybe something from the distant past, it is very satisfying to peek through them.
They defy gravity.
(Cue song.)
They make a great place to put your pumpkin.
A great spot for playing Ruler of All I Survey.
They can let you know which way the giant went.
Sometimes they can communicate.
And they can be playful. They love to play Catch the Log.
With the help of some water, they can gently cradle an old bottle. And provide a surprising treasure for a passerby.
And down through the centuries they have provided
a way for us to encircle our fires.
A rock can be a friend when you feel so alone.
And don't forget that gnomes love to pose in front of them.
They provide a place to hide when you are feeling vulnerable.
Or maybe just a bit sneaky.
They can be a place to take a stand.
Or a place to launch the battle from.
Even it it's just a personal one.
They can be a place to highlight your beauty, even if it may be fading.
They can show us that with patience
we can get through the toughest obstacles.
They can also offer a stable, dependable place to grow.
But rocks can be stubborn, too.
Some say imitation is the highest form of flattery.
I know someone who agrees.
Some find it relaxing to just throw them.
For others it can be quite scary!
Dangerous, even. Just depends on your perspective.
And your position.
They can be elusive. And so beautiful.
And they can make the crashing waves sound even more enchanting. Makes you sort of wish you were a wave. To be able to crash over the rocks and just float on back to the sea unharmed.
I like rocks.
Only you can make rocks come alive. I loved every second going thru it. What a beauty! Thank you!
