Garden Mayhem!!!

All the rain we had this month, over 10 inches, has made the garden grow and grow and grow. I went outside and stepped out of the gate to the garden on the hill and started to laugh.  I felt like I was in some sort of faery forest.  It was nice and cool, so I started in clearing out some of the mayhem.  Weeds two feet high!  Spent columbine, creeping stuff that crept too far.  By the time I was done I had a huge pile for composting.  And then I took some time to enjoy what the garden is all about.

The ranunculus plant is sort of leggy.  Not really a stunner.  But the flowers, they're what keep me from pulling them out, no matter where they seem to pop up. 

 

Ahh, that ranunculus.  It's a keeper.
